BHUBANESWAR: Srusti Academy of Management (SAM) here has been accredited ‘A’ grade by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). Prof G K Sharma, principal of SAM, said the management school is the first B-school in the State to achieve this feat. The accreditation is for five years. NAAC released a new list of 130 accredited institutes on September 16. Out of the 18 institutes accredited ‘A’ grade, SAM ranked seventh. The institute had applied for the accreditation last year. To get the accreditation, institute had to meet stringent conditions set by NAAC. The NAAC was also satisfied with the institute’s placement record. The accreditation makes it easier for the institute to get grants from UGC. Sharma said the institute has inked MoUs with two foreign universities to start new programmes. At present, the business school is offering full-time MBA and MCA courses. It also offers short-term courses in collaboration with National Stock Exchange, Retailers’ Association of India and other organisations.
