KOCHI: The Kerala High Court on Monday directed the Registry to make necessary arrangements for constituting a special court for dealing with the Paravoor sex scandal case. Directive was given to the government to grant approval without any delay. The court also directed to complete the investigation and trial of the case by May 31, 2012. A Division Bench comprising Justices C N Ramachandran Nair and P S Gopinathan passed the order while considering a petition by Adv T B Mini seeking a directive to the government to rehabilitate the victim in the case. The police submitted before the court that many accused in the case are absconding and supposedly residing in gulf countries and that’s the reason for the delay in completing the investigation, to which the court told the police to file charge sheet against the arrested accused. The court asked the Sessions Judge to split the charge sheet and directed the magistrate to impound and cancel passports under various sections of Passport Act 1967.The victim asked the court to release her and sought permission to live with her mother’s sister. The court observed that since the girl’s parents were also among the prime accused it would be a unwise to do so. “The victim cannot be released from the Juvenile home until atleast her evidence is recorded in this case,” the court said and directed the police to release the victim immediately after recording the evidence. The court issued the directive to enable the victim to continue her studies.
