CHENNAI: There has been no trace of one-and-a-half year old G Kavitha so far, even as special police teams grilled suspects and put up posters of the toddler, who went missing from her house at Virugambakkam on Monday evening.Kavitha was last seen on the veranada of her house around 5.30 pm. Her father R Ganesh was away from home and her mother Vasanthi was in the kitchen when she went missing.Joint Commissioner K P Shanmugarajeswaran told Express that special teams were probing the case from several angles. this is the fourth such incident in the city. “So far, the parents have not received any call, demanding ransom,” he said.Claiming that the police had obtained “some leads,” the JCP said there could have been small problems among the residents in the area and, as a result of the enmity, the child could have been lifted. Describing the series of kidnaps as individual, isolated incidents, he said some 10-15 people had been questioned so far.“We are also probing the child abuse and adoption racket angles,” an investigating officer said. The police has put posters of the girl, announcing a reward for any information about her.
