KOCHI: Thousands of students participated in the Children’s Book Festival held in connection with the Kochi International Book Festival. The festival organised by students, had books from school and home libraries exhibited at their respective schools. The visitors include students, their parents and teachers. Students who have exhibited maximum number of books, and those who have read a certain percentage of them will be given prizes. Trophies and certificates will be also given to schools exhibiting maximum number of books. There are students who exhibited more than 4,100 books and schools which have exhibited more than 1.5 lakh books. Thammanam Nalanda Higher Secondary School students also conducted a harvest festival as part of the book fest. St Antony’s School Ernakulam, commemorated writers like Thakazhi, Changampuzha and Vyloppilli whose centenary celebrations are underway. Renowned personalities like Prof M K Sanu, Chemmanam Chacko, Sreekumari Ramachandran and film director Siddique participated in different programmes organised as part of the fest. Prizes will be distributed at the venu of Kochi International Book Festival.
