New Delhi: The Supreme Court is scheduled to deliver a judgement in coal blocks allocation on Monday, based on a petition alleging irregularities in the allotment of coal blocks to private parties was made in 2012.
The petition challenged the allocations during the UPA and NDA regimes to private parties from 2001 till 2009. It also demanded that the allocations made between 2004 to February 2012 be un-allocated.
The CBI had registered 15 cases after it conducted detailed preliminary inquiry in which it found substantial evidence of large scale illegalities & irregularities in the allocation process and also instances of corruption, bribery and conspiracy to cheat the public exchequer.
