New Delhi: Samsung has officially announced the prices for its upcoming wearable devices - Gear Fit and Gear 2 smartwatch. The Gear 2 smartwatch is priced at $295 - $3 less than the retail price of the first-generation Gear watch. The Gear Fit, on the other hand, will come at $197, Samsung announced in Taiwan, according to SamMobile.

The Samsung Gear Fit has a 1.84-inch curved Super AMOLED screen and features including a pedometer and heart rate monitor. It will be available globally starting from April. The Gear Fit keeps consumers up to date with notifications from Galaxy smartphones such as incoming calls, emails, SMS, alarm, S-planner, 3rd party apps while consumers are on the move so they can stay connected.

It will come with changeable straps in Black, Orange and Mocha Grey. The Gear Fit is dust and water-resistant.

Samsung's Gear 2, which runs on the Tizen operating system rather than Google's Android software, can monitor the wearer's heart rate, a function used in increasingly popular health and fitness apps, or individual programmes.

Both devices were unveiled last month during MWC 2014.
