HYDERABAD: Cyberabad police arrested 14 offenders belonging to various gangs on Friday, who were involved in 56 cases of chain snatching, house burglaries and thefts. Property worth Rs 46 lakh was recovered.Two chain snatching gangs were arrested and more than 60 tola gold ornaments recovered. Police arrested two brothers, Mohd Saleem alias Sheku and Mohd Shareef and their associates, Md Sultan and Habeeb Yousuf for their involvement in 11 snatchings, two burglaries and three car thefts and recovered 28 tola gold and 20 tola silver.Another snatcher, D Maruthi alias Prasanth, who is an ex-convict was also nabbed.33 tola gold ornaments and a motorcycle worth `8.85 lakh were recovered from him.L Santosh and Banni and K Mallesh were arrested and stolen property worth `9.34 lakh recovered from them.Similarly, G Jithender, G Srinivas Reddy and Are Rajasekhar, who used to select isolated colonies and commit offences in locked houses were arrested and property worth `9.20 lakh recovered.M Sreenu alias Yesu and M Narsimlu (brothers) and V Raju alias Ladda, all having past criminal records, were arrested and gold, silver worth `6.50 lakh recovered.V Raja, who used to travel in RTC buses and steal gold from passenger’s bags was also arrested.
