MYSORE: Agriculture Minister Umesh Katti assured the farmers of the district that Rs. 150 crore grants for mechanisation of farming would be implemented soon. After inaugurating the four-day Raitha Dasara at JK Grounds on Thursday, he said: “As this is a farmers festival, apart from conducting Raitha Dasara in localities, from next year initiatives would be taken to invite farmers across Karnataka to exchange their views.”Appreciating the efforts of former CM B S Yeddyurappa towards the farming sector, he said Yeddyurappa provided loan at 1 per cent interest, introduced about 50 per cent subsidy for seeds and introduced rejuvenation of earth programme, Swarnabhoomi Scheme, Rs. 10,000 loan for 10 lakh farmers. Awards were presented to farmers and all the VIPs were adorned with ‘Petas’.
