CHENNAI: The timely intervention of a Railway Protection Force (RPF) sub-inspector saved the life of a youth, who had been run over by an Electric Multiple Unit (EMU) train on Sunday night.According to sources, RPF officials received information about an injured person lying on the track, after he was hit by a suburban train between Chetpet and Egmore railway stations, around 9 pm.Immediately, RPF SI Anjaneyulu took the victim, who was thought to be dead to the hospital for treatment. The vital organs of the unidentified person have started functioning after treatment, sources added.Meanwhile, authorities are also investigating if the victim, who appears to be a little over 25 years had attempted suicide.Girl from AP rescuedRPF personnel also rescued a 15-year-old girl, who was found roaming on the Egmore railway station platform on Sunday.
