The Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) is gearing up to hold its two-day state working committee meeting in Vrindavan from July 30, party sources said on Wednesday.
Among the issues on the agenda would be the implications of the recent Supreme Court order debarring candidates from contesting polls upon conviction in a criminal case.
"RLD is in favour of the apex court judgement... however, it would be unfair if (a candidate) is debarred simply because he has been taken into police custody.
"We feel it (the SC order) may be misused," Munna Singh Chauhan, the RLD state president, told reporters here.
The meet would see party members adopting political, economic and social resolutions while discussions are held on topics such as land acquisition, profitable farming, payment of arrears of sugarcane cultivators, employment for youth, etc.
The meet is to be inaugurated by RLD MP and the party's national vice-president, Jayant Chaudhary.
The second day of the meet would see an open session which is to be attended by party chief and Union Civil Aviation Minister Ajit Singh.
