BANGALORE: JD(S) leader in the Assembly H D Revanna on Thursday dared the state government to order a CBI probe into illegal mining in the state if there was no truth in the Lokayukta report.“Why are you making noise about the Lokayukta report? If you think the report is biased, then order a CBI probe,” he said, accusing the government of trying to shift the blame on Lokayukta. He also demanded Governor H R Bharadwaj to dismiss the state government taking into consideration the open admission by former chief minister B S Yeddyurappa that there was no rule of law in Bellary for the past three-and-half years. “It is as good as accepting his own failure as Yeddyurappa was the CM during that period. What moral right does this government have to continue in office?” Revanna asked. He said that the party would soon submit a petition to the Governor in this regard. On the Bellary bypoll, he said the party maintained a consistent stand of supporting an independent candidate to defeat both Congress and the BJP. He said, “It could be anybody. There are five independent candidates in the fray.”
