"Raj Kapoorji passed away when I was very young.... I think I must be six-years-old then. I still remember he used to call us to his room. All my cousins, including me, my sister, Kareena and Karisma we all used to be there.... he used to call us in a room and we used to have all the toffees with him," Ranbir said. "We all used to sit down and he used to ask us to perform. And getting that one toffee was a very big deal," he said.

Raj Kapoor, who earned the epithet 'Show-Man' due to his distinctive style, gave several hits such as 'Awaara', 'Shree 420', 'Boot Polish', 'Chori Chori', 'Sangam' and 'Bobby'.
