New Delhi: The craze for Bigg Boss seems to be getting bigger by the day. The reality show on Sony is climbing up on popularity charts and so are its not-so-known celebrities. The latest episode of Bigg Boss featured Bollywood star John Abraham as a guest while a voted-out member Rakhi Sawant made a re-entry into the show.
The housemates turned the house into sher-e-Bigg Boss - a restaurant where they cooked kababs for John Abraham. The short appearance on Bigg Boss was a part of the promotion for John’s forthcoming film Kabul Express. Though the contestants are not supposed to be entertained in their stint at Bigg Boss’s house, they will however see Kabul Express this one time.
Rakhi was received with equally great applause. Sawant who had otherwise planned a series of stage shows towards the year-end reportedly cancelled her stage performances to be back on the show. She says it’s a bigger opportunity to be on a family entertainment channel on one-of its kind reality show, given the popularity charts it’s climbing.
“I think being on national television is more acceptable and credible than performing on stage. Working on TV will give her more respectability,” says Sawant’s secretary Manoj Prabhakar. He adds she had offers from Delhi, Kolkata and Mumbai to perform on December 31.
Rajesh Kamath of Endemol, which produced Bigg Boss, said the decision to have Sawant in the house again “was more because of the public sentiment.”
