Baljit Singh Dhillon and Jugraj Singh are confident of winning the second edition of the PHL that will be played in Chandigarh.

Chandigarh: Former India captain Baljit Singh Dhillon and drag-flick specialist Jugraj Singh, representatives of Sher-e-Jalandhar and Chandigarh Dynamos, respectively, have expressed confidence of winning the Premier Hockey League (PHL).

The second edition of the PHL will be held in Chandigarh from January 5.

Speaking at a PHL marketing programme, the two hockey stars challenged each other and claimed that their respective team would

emerge winners.

Pointing out at Jugraj, Dhillon said “Your team, Chandigarh Dynamos, was promoted to Tier I in the second edition. As your team

will be playing for the first time in Tier I. I am confident that Sher-e-Jalandhar will keep the trophy in Punjab.”

Jugraj shot back by announcing that Chandigarh Dynamos were champions in Tier II in the inaugural edition of the PHL in Hyderabad and now would be the ultimate winners.

“We will now win the Tier I in Chandigarh,” he said.

The two players were hopeful of a Sher-e-Jalandhar-Chandigarh Dynamos clash in the PHL final.

Sher-e-Jalandhar captain Gagan Ajit Singh and Chandigarh Dynamos skipper Rajpal Singh were not present on the occasion as they are attending the coaching camp in Chennai.
