BANGALORE: The Common Entrance Test (CET) conducted by the Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) for admissions to professional courses, including Engineering, Medical and Dental courses in Karnataka, has been postponed. CET will now be held from May 21 to 23, 2012.Earlier, the exams were scheduled from May 3 to 5, 2012. Executive Director of KEA Rashmi V Mahesh told Express that the postponement was unavoidable since the CET dates depend on the schedule of the PU exams. “Due to the question paper leak, the II PU exams were postponed. Later, PU lecturers went on strike demanding wage parity. This set us back by at least 15 days,” Rashmi said.  She explained that the PU exam evaluation work may go on till the first week of May.  “Since they (PU lecturers) were also entrusted with CET work, the postponement was inevitable,” she added. Meanwhile, official sources from KEA told Express that so far only 20 per cent of the 32 lakh answer sheets were evaluated.Rashmi added that CET results will be published on June 6, 2012, and the verification of documents at helpline centres will commence from June 13, 2012. However, she said that since they have not issued hall tickets to students, the revised time table will be intimated to them when they go to collect their hall tickets from their colleges. Asked if the counselling dates will also be postponed, she said that from this year, counselling will be done online and will be held according to the schedule from July 7, 2012.
