KOZHIKODE: P T Thomas MP stated that a conspiracy has been hatched against Chief Minister Oommen Chandy inside the Congress. Speaking to mediapersons here on Sunday, he asked the Congress High Command to find out the origin of the conspiracy against Chief Minister in the name of caste and religious forces. He further said that a conspiracy had taken place in the Muslim League also on the fifth ministerial post. “The difference of opinion in the Muslim League has worsened the issue. Some leaders in the Congress are knowingly or unknowingly criticising the Chief Minister. We would block any move to weaken the Chief Minister,” P T Thomas said.He also added that no one in the Congress should eye for the chief ministerial post. He further said that the League should not have asked for the fifth minister. “The protests and public procession in the name of fifth ministerial post was not right. Now the CPM is trying to malign the image of the UDF after the Piravom by-elections,” he added. On the criticism that the UDF is allocating ministerial berths on communal lines, he said, “UDF has not decided the ministerial posts by taking the communal balance into account. It is the policy of the CPM and the Congress has never intervened in the selection of the ministers of the UDF allies. The present crisis evolved after many of the UDF leaders fell into the trap created by the CPM about the communal polarisation and views against it. He further said that it was not for the first time that Kerala is having a Cabinet with a majority of ministers from minority communities.
