Srinagar: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Wednesday said that massive protests erupting in Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK) should serve as an eye opener for the separatists in Jammu and Kashmir.
In a statement, the BJP spokesperson Khalid Jehangir said, "People in PoK taking to the streets and demanding freedom from Pakistan is a clear indication of the fact that they are facing oppression from the rulers and want to get rid of the autocratic regime."
Jehangir said that force personnel using brute force against the peaceful protesters and humiliating them is condemnable. "It’s strange that separatists who claim to be the champions of human rights have maintained silence over the force personnel beating up the protesters. Had the same incident taken place in this part of Kashmir, separatists would have called for strike and instigated the people to hit the streets," Jehangir added.
Jehangir said, "Separatists should see the writing on the wall and stop acting at the behest of their bosses sitting across the Line of Control (LoC) and stop misleading people. Kashmiris are fed up of violence and want to live a peaceful and prosperous life."
