HYDERABAD: The AP Central Power Distribution Company Limited has announced power tariff for illumination of Ganesh pandals in the twin cities and appealed to the festival organisers to apply for temporary LT connections rather than resorting to illegal tapping of power.The CPDCL would levy a charge of Rs 500 for a connected load of 250 watts, Rs 1,000 for load above 250 watts and up to 500 watts and Rs 1,500 plus Rs 750 for every 500 watts or part thereof for above 500 watts.The organisers could also opt for metered supply.As taking electrical connection is a must, CPDCL urged organisers to avoid illegal tapping of electricty, an offence under Electricity Act 2003.The CPDCL advised organisers to follow precautions like not to throw objects on power lines; not to meddle with overhead power lines; not to climb electricity poles for connection; not to touch a person who is in contact with live power lines; to use standard service wire without joints; not to touch snapped wires; etc.In case of any electrical emergency, the department can be contact over telephone number 155333 or APCPDCL officials.
