Home Minister Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan has said that state government will do everything to nab the real culprits in all criminal cases and only by doing so, the law and order could be maintained. He was speaking at the
meet-the-press programme at the Kottayam Press Club on Sunday.
“In all the murder cases, including that of T P Chandrasekharan, Abdul Shukkoor and Mohammed Fasal, police have been given a free hand to conduct inquiry to find out the real culprits. Government will extend maximum support to all investigating officers, who are doing their job sincerely,” he added. Earlier this was not the situation in the state. If a political crime happened, a list of accused was prepared and they were punished. Those who committed the crime often escaped punishment. Such methods would not put an end to political murders, he said adding that his department is being criticised only on political grounds. Special Cabinet Meet
Thiruvanchoor said that there will be a special Cabinet meet on Monday to discuss the LPG tanker accident in Kannur. “A detailed investigation will be conducted into whether the company which was given the contract for transporting LPG, had followed all the safety norms,” he said.
