Police detect 5 kg landmine

BHADRACHALAM: Charla police on Tuesday detected a 5 kg landmine allegedly planted by the Maoists on GogubakaRallagudem road and defused it.
Cops suspect that the landmine must have been planted by the Maoists in the wee hours of Tuesday. Luckily, it did not go off. A police team led by Charla SI K Nagaraju found the landmine.Meanwhile, Maoists continued to fell trees at Gogubaka and Rallagudem villages on BhadrachalamVenkatapuram road to disrupt traffic as part of the two day bandh, in protest of the killing of Kishenji.
