Police arrest tenant for raping landlord's 14-year-old daughter

A 14-year-old girl was allegedly raped for eight months by her tenant in Haridwar district, police said on Wednesday.

The accused identified as Vinay was arrested from Jwalapur area of the district yesterday after the victim's mother victim lodged a complaint charging him of raping her daughter for eight months, they said.

The girl kept the matter to herself all these months as the accused had threatened to kill her if she disclosed it to anyone, they said quoting the complaint lodged by the victim's mother.

The accused, a labourer, was living as a tenant in the victim's house since an year, police said.
