Plea to stay TASMAC tender

CHENNAI: A batch of writ pleas have been made in the HC to stay all proceedings pursuant to the tender notification dated June 9 of the TASMAC for allotment of licences for eateries in its retail outlets in Salem.According to the advocate, the TASMAC invited bids for grant of licence to sell eatables in its outlets. K Mahalingam of Puchaikadu and five others sent applications. How­ever, they were restra­ined from participating. The bidders were selected at the whims and fancies of officials, in violation of the provisions of the TN Transparency in Tenders Act, the advocate claimed.
