BANGALORE: For those who have the business insight to innovate future strategies and are confident of building the best business ideas of tomorrow, The Charted Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) has declared the registrations for The fourth CIMA Global Business Challenge (GBC) open.After unparalleled success during the last three years, the 4th edition of the CIMA Global Business Challenge 2012 - a unique global case study competition for undergraduate students, has set sail in India. What started with a participation of 5,700 students from eight countries and 125 universities in the year 2009 has grown into a truly global competition and witnessed a participation of approximately 20,000 students from 17 different countries and 400 plus Universities around the globe in the year 2011. With over 1, 25,000 different viewers engaged via the internet, GBC 2011 also saw a Facebook fan following of over 10,000 people from India and 30,000 people across the globe.Taking into consideration the overwhelming response of the first three years, CIMA is expecting the participations to grow much higher this year. The Indian winners of the GBC 2012 would compete at the global level with the lead teams from twenty two other countries like Australia, Bangladesh, Mainland China, Ghana, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Iran, Pakistan, Ireland, Malaysia, Middle East, New Zealand, Philippines, Russia, Singapore, South Africa, Sri Lanka and UK in the global finals, in June 2012.Arati Porwal, Chief Representative, CIMA India said that, “CIMA Global Business Challenge has always provided undergraduate students an international platform to show case their business acumen. It has proved to be an extremely popular competition for India’s ambitious future business leaders.  We therefore expect a stronger participation in GBC 2012, than the over 400 teams that participated last year. To help the students prepare for the GBC 2012, CIMA has this year, taken certain steps to raise the bar of competition and enrich the participant’s experience. These steps include holding case study analysis workshops in colleges”.The mini case study workshops by CIMA will help the participants test their business analysis skills. Along with exciting cash prizes for the Global winners, teams winning the regional and national rounds will also get to win a host of prizes and free participation to a host of CIMA workshops.The registrations for the CIMA GBC 2012 have already begun.
