BANGALORE: The High Court on Tuesday adjourned the hearing of a public interest litigation petition seeking action against the misuse of the State flag.Petitioner and advocate Prakash Shetty has approached the court seeking action against Karnataka Rakshana Vedike (KRV) President T A Narayanagowda for allegedly misusing the State flag for personal reasons. Counsel for the petitioner Mahesh Kiran stated that State’s flag commands as much respect as the National tricolour, even though it is not registered. The people in the state have emotional attachment to the flag He contended that Gowda is involved several criminal cases and has been misusing the State’s flag, emblem and the name of Rashtrakavi Kuvempu for his own reasons.Hearing the petition, the division bench comprising Chief Justice Vikramajit Sen and Justice B V Nagarathna adjourned the matter for further hearing on the case.
