New Delhi: President A P J Abdul Kalam on Friday said the success of peace talks with Pakistan is predicated on the stopping of terrorism on its territory by the neighbouring country.
Expressing India's concerns over infiltration and cross-border terrorism, the President said: "We remain concerned over infiltration and cross-border terrorism."
"The Indo-Pak dialogue process was progressing steadily, but its success is predicated on Pakistan fulfilling its commitment not to permit any territory under its control to be used to support terrorism in any manner," the President said in his address to the joint sitting of Parliament at the start of the Budget Session.
Kalam also gave an overview of India's relations with the US, Russia, China and Japan as also with neighbouring countries.
"It is a matter of satisfaction that the dialogue process with Pakistan is progressing steadily. The Composite Dialogue, the Joint Commission and the Anti-Terrorism Institutional Mechanism have provided a structural framework within which all major issues are being discussed," he said.
