Parts of Vadodara unaffected by riots
In the affluent parts of Vadodara, the day to day life goes on as before.

Vadodara: The curfew in Vadodara was relaxed for four hours on Saturday and the army was withdrawn from Raopura and Karelibagh areas.

But there are parts in the city which continue to be completely undisturbed by the violence.

Six days before, the demolition of a dargah had sparked off violent clashes in the city.

But most of the clashes took place in the eastern Old City, which is still under curfew barring the few hours of relaxation.

"It's difficult to conduct business in this atmosphere," wails a vegetable seller.

"My children get so bored by remaining indoors all the time," is the complaint of a housewife.

But there are parts of the city where life goes on unaffected.

People are out shopping and the violence doesn't seem to have any effect in the day to day lives here.

The parts where the more affluent class of Vadodara lives, shopping malls, banks and cafes have been open all through the violent clashes that claimed six lives.

What's your reaction?
