VELLORE: A day after human skeletal remains were unearthed from a septic tank in a house in Ambur, two persons, including a special Sub Inspector (SI) of Police, were arrested in this connection on Wednesday. On Tuesday, the police unearthed remains of human skeletons from the septic tank in the house of retired head constable Loganathan (70), who was living alone with his wife Chinthamani (62) in Bethlaham area of Ambur town. Investigations revealed that Loganathan’s son George William (47), a special SI at the Korattur Police Station in Chennai, who visited his parents in June last year, found the house locked. However, he filed a police complaint only in October stating that his parents were missing.On Tuesday, he informed the police that he had found human skeletons inside the septic tank of the house. The police reached the spot and sent samples of the skeletons for forensic tests, the results of which alone can help determine if the skeletons were that of the aged couple. A special team has begun investigations. Meanwhile, George’s uncle, John Victor, reportedly confessed to the police that he was involved in the murder of the couple. Based on his confession, both John Victor and George were arrested on charges of murder and concealing evidence.
