Islamabad: Muhammad Tahir-Ul-Qadri the Islamic cleric, who is pushing for electoral reforms in Pakistan, said that his political party would boycott the forthcoming general elections in the country.

Qadri said the electoral reforms that were promised to him in January by the then government after his long march to Islamabad have not been implemented.

Qadri had earlier threatened the government of a million-man march and demanded that the army play a bigger role in forming a caretaker government. The numbers in the march, however, seemed limited to a few thousands.
