Pakistan Expels Indian High Commission Official Without Explanation
In a tit-for-tat move, Pakistan has expelled an employee at the Indian High Commission in Islamabad hours after New Delhi declared a Pakistani national working at the country's High Commission here as ‘persona non grata’ on charges of espionage.

“The Foreign Secretary expressed deep concern over the activities of the Indian official that were in violation of the Vienna Convention and the established diplomatic norms," the release said.

The Delhi Police on Thursday morning had said it arrested a Pakistan national, Mehmood Akhtar, working at the country's High Commission in the national capital on charges of espionage. The MEA declared him a persona non grata, and Akhtar was asked to leave the country within 48 hours.

Delhi police intercepted Mehmood Akhtar on Wednesday while he was receiving sensitive documents pertaining to national security of India, according to Ministry of External Affairs (MEA).
