On PR drive, Pak says will set up anti-terror body
The agency coordinate counter-terrorism efforts by the 3 organisations.

New Delhi: With mounting evidence against Pakistan, the country is now initiating a drive to improve its global image.

President Asif Ali Zardari has urged the government to set up a high-level body to counter terror outfits like the Taliban.

The organisation, National Commission for Counter Terrorism, might get constitutional cover to fight terrorism.

NCCT is expected to be an umbrella organisation for the Inter-State Intelligence, the Federal Investigation Agency and the Intelligence Bureau of Pakistan.

It is expected to coordinate counter-terrorism efforts by the three organisations.

According to a Pakistani channel, the commission - to be a constitutional body - would be headed by a 'top-level professional' to prepare and execute strategies.

Retired FIA chief Tariq Pervaiz is a likely frontrunner for the chief of the new anti-terror body.
