An accused in the murder case of BJP leader Omvir Singh has been remanded in police custody by a local court in Muzaffarnagar.

Acting Chief Judicial Magistrate Garima Choudhry on Monday allowed 12 hour police custody of Monu beginning this morning.

Police had sought the custody of Monu for recovering the arms used in the crime.

47-year-old Om Vir Singh 'Fauji', a retired army man who was the vice-president of BJP unit in Mirapur town, was killed by two assailants on June 10.
