New Delhi: India's Omkar Singh won the bronze while the men's and the women's teams bagged silvers in the 10 metre air pistol event at the 4th Asian Airgun Championship in Kuwait on Thursday.
According to information received here, Omkar shot a score of 581 with a series of 97,96,95,97,99 and 97 to qualify for the finals on the 4th place. In the finals, Omkar shot 100.8 to finish third. Among other Indians, Vijay Kumar finished eighth with a score of 678.1 (579+99.1) while Om Prakash was 12th with a score of 574 in a strong field of 56 shooters.
The gold went to Wu Xiao of China with a score of 689.2 (589+100.2) while Tan Zongliang won the silver with a score of 683.8 (583+100.8).
The team of Omkar, Vijay and Om Prakash also won the team silver with a score of 1734. Gold was won by China with 1750 while Kazakhstan shot 1723 to win the bronze.
In the women's event, Shweta Chaudhry missed the bronze by 0.1 points after she shot a score of 483.2. In the qualification round, Shweta shot a score of 385 with a series of 96,98,97 and 94.
London Olympic quota winner Annu Raj Singh finised seventh with a score of 478.8 (380+98.8) while this year's World University gold medallist Harveen Srao finished 16th with a score of 375.
The Indian women's team of Shweta, Annu and Harveen won the team silver with a score of 1140. The team gold was won by China (1149) while bronze went to Iran (1135).
