NSS, SNDP come out against fifth Minister

KOTTAYAM: The allotment of an additional berth to the IUML in the UDF Ministry and the ensuing Cabinet reshuffle may trigger some strange political and communal equations in the state. Viewing it as a tactic of minority appeasement, the organisations representing the majority community are planning to join hands to raise their voice against the UDF. “It is high time we thought of a majority sects’ consolidation. The communities, right from Adivasis to Namboothiris, should come forward against this social injustice. We will consider talking to other communities as well in the wake of this new social situation,” SNDP Yogam general secretary Vellappally Natesan told Express.  Though, the NSS has not openly spoken on joining hands with other majority communities, its reaction to the Cabinet reshuffle and the fifth minister issue speaks volumes. “The portfolio jugglery can no longer resolve the issue. Here, minority classes have got an upper hand in the government.” :That should be changed. Otherwise they will have to pay a high price for it,” said NSS general secretary G Sukumaran Nair.
