NEW DELHI: The Delhi High Court on Tuesday issued notice to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on a petition filed by the DMK MP and daughter of the former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu M Karunanidhi in the 2G case. Justice M L Mehta directed the investigation agency to file its reply by May 10. Senior counsel Ram Jethmalani, appearing for Kanimozhi told Justice Mehta that she had been falsely implicated in the matter and there was no evidence whatsoever that could justify the charges that were framed against her. “The impugned order framing charges against the petitioner is based on a completely wrong and misplaced understanding of the law of conspiracy,” the petition filed by Kanimozhi averred. It was on March 23 that Kanimozhi moved the High Court and sought quashing of the charges that were framed against her by the trial court.
