BANGALORE: A man has alleged that Sheshadripuram police have not yet opened a first information report (FIR) on a complaint lodged by him on August 29.Ramesh S Shah, a chartered accountant and a resident of Basaveshwaranagar, said he had lodged a complaint against a woman identified as Jayashri, who works in the police department and others, who had allegedly abused and manhandled him for parking his car in front of a house near 3rd cross in Kumara Park West. Despite repeated efforts, he said police have not taken any step to file an FIR.He said that the accused are ‘influential persons’ and added that he feels he was being followed by someone at night. Now he has lodged a complaint against the police with the State Human Rights Commission, Lokayukta, Home Minister R Ashok and City Police Commissioner Jyothi Prakash Mirji.When contacted, Additional Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) T Sunil Kumar said, “ If it is found to be cognizable, then the police must open the FIR. If it is not, then the police will acknowledge the complaint and there is no need for an FIR. But, in this case, if the police have made a mistake, I will take action against the policemen concerned .”
