Bengaluru: The Bengaluru Police has given permission to bars and restaurants to remain open till 2 AM on the intervening night of December 31 and January 1. The usual nightlife deadline on weekdays is 11:30 PM. Earlier this year, the deadline on Friday and Saturday was extended till 1 AM.
The police gave permission for extended partying hours on New Year's eve after they got requests from hotels and restaurants, Additional CP(Law & Order) Alok Kumar told CNN-IBN.
Bars should obtain necessary permission from the State Excise Department to remain open during the additional hours
This order is also applicable to the hotels, eating houses, restaurants, which do not serve liquor. These establishments would not require any permission from the Excise Department to remain open during additional period.
