TIRUCHY/ MADURAI: A cheating case against Sasikala’s husband Natarajan was registered by the city crime branch police here and three of his associates were arrested in connection with this case on Friday. Based on a complaint from realtor N Varadharajan who charged Natarajan with cheating him in a land transaction, the CCB filed a case against Natarajan and three of his associates Saran, Anandhakrishnan and Chelladurai. On Friday, the CCB arrested the trio and produced them before Judicial Magistrate Court IV and judge Pushparani remanded them to judicial custody. According to the complaint, N Varadharajan (46) managing director of Lavanya builders of Thillai Nagar, was approached by a land broker Saran of Thanjavur in 2007 for a sale deed of a seven-acre land at Kottapattu near Airport owned by M Natarajan. Varadharajan, who wanted to buy the land, approached Natarajan through his assistants Ananda Krishnan and Sundaravelan and handed over `1.60 crore in eight instalments from 2007 to 2011. But, the land was not handed over to Varadharajan so far. Later, Natarajan gave back just Rs 4 lakh. When Varadharajan insisted him to give the land, Natarajan, his nephews Suresh and Kumar, Chelladurai, Suresh’s father in law, threatened him, after which, a plaint was filed.
