Thousands of job seekers flooded Mumbai’s Kalina to appear for interviews conducted for just a handful of vacancies. Aspirants turned up for a walk-in interview at Air India Airport Services Ltd (AIASL).
The walk-in interview was scheduled for 600 vacancies for various maintenance staff positions. However, due to the situation spiralling out of control, applicants were only asked to submit their resumes and then leave the premises.
A video clip of the massive crowd of aspirants gathered at the interview location went viral on social media platforms. The huge crowd caused a traffic jam in the area.

Gaikwad in her post on the microblogging site ‘X’ stated that over twenty five thousand applicants appeared for interview for 600 posts at Mumbai airport.

“The youth need employment, not empty promises and false statistics. When will this government be serious about the future of the youth of the country?” stated Gaikwad.
Meanwhile, Maharashtra LoP Vijay Wadettiwar said that a massive crowd turning up for a handful of jobs depicts the severity of the unemployment situation in the country.
Wadettiwar criticized the Maharashtra government for the state’s unemployment issue, alleging that it stems from flawed government schemes that have deterred investments.
