Mumbai: Mumbai gets animated in Summertime Rocks, a brand new album by rock group, Smoke.

The album, also featuring singer Kailash Kher, breaks the monotony of unnecessary skin show and dancing around the trees, which is usually seen in contemporary music videos.

The video features the group's members, music composers' Ashu and Dhruv, animatedly walking the streets of Mumbai.

The city and its landmarks are an intrinsic part of the animation video, right from the BMC to the Bandra Worli sea link and even the Marine Drive.

"The minute we heard the song, we knew, we wanted to use animation in it. We wanted to use the Monty Python style and also use Mumbai also in it,” says music composer, Ashutosh.

"It is completely 2D animation. We went about shooting all around Mumbai and we got a lot of cut outs of them and we worked on the texture and colour of it," says animator, Aditya Vikram Sengupta.

And, Mumbai clearly seems to be the inspiration for the video.

"We wanted to talk about the city, the frustrations we have, take digs at the BMC, we were frustrated with what is happening in the city,” says creative director of Summertime Rocks, Manisha/Shashanka.

"We wanted to show that even if things go wrong, one can still have fun in this city. Just remove all the negativity,” says Ashutosh.
