HYDERABAD: The Central Crime Station police arrested seven promoters of a real estate firm on Saturday, for being involved in multi-level marketing racket.Police recovered five laptops, Rs 3 lakh, one gold bracelet while freezing their bank accounts containing deposits of Rs 29 lakh.According to police, they arrested seven promoters of Viswajyothi Realtors collecting money from public in the name of multi-level marketing.The accused are Vangala Surender, area field manager in Sahara India Parivar and promoter of Vishwajyothi Realtors and native of Vishnupuri in Warangal, K Chokka Rao, M Yella Swamy, V Devender Rao, S Pinakapani, S Venkat Raju all residents of Warangal and Shaik Nagul Meera, a resident of Mudigonda mandal in Khammam. J Satyanarayana, DCP (Crime) said Vishwajyothi Realtors was started by three persons - Tata Pramod alias Tata Pradeep Reddy, Nama Ajay Raj alias Sama Ravi Babu and Pinreddy Ravinder Reddy alias Ravinder Reddy at flat no.304, Lumbini Enclave in Punjagutta.“They designed a website to promote their business and initially members started promoting multi-level marketing in their areas and bringing up more promoters.The website vishwajyothi.biz.aspx was linked to two bank accounts and members got money directly transferred into their bank account,” police said.Thus, directors of the company were unknown to many.The multilevel marketing spread like wildfire in Warangal and Karimnagar.The promoters mostly lured daily labourers, small vendors, farmers and Kirana merchants.The case, registered on August 11, was transferred to CCS on August 19.In pursuance of the same, CCS arrested seven promoters and seized their belongings.
