Two days after RJD supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav targeted Samajwadi Party president Mulayam Singh Yadav and heaped praises at Congress Vice-President Rahul Gandhi on his visit to riot victims in Muzaffarnagar, Mulayam took the war of words to another level as he launched a verbal attack at Lalu. Mulayam, speaking in Lucknow on Tuesday, said that Lalu is Congress’s sycophant.
Like Lalu, we (Samajwadi Party) cannot start flattering Congress, said Mulayam. Lalu, considered as a favoured leader among the Muslim community, had attacked the Akhilesh government over their alleged indifferent remarks on refuges in the camps.
The officers have been saying that people don't die even in cold weather of Siberia, let alone in Muzaffarnagar. This is unfortunate, Lalu had said on Sunday. Leaders like Narendra Modi and Arvind Kejriwal did not stand anywhere near Rahul, he had added.
