Mr Telangana retains title

HYDERABAD: From among hundreds of muscle men, who gathered form across the Telangana region, it was 28-year-old Anil Kumar who won the title Mr Telangana at the competition held here late on Sunday night. The event was organized by Bhagyanagar Body Building Association, Dilsukhnagar along with The Telangana Body Building Association. Anil hails from R K Puram and has been the title holder of ‘Mr Telangana’ for the last four years. After the competition, an ecstatic Anil credited his parents and three brothers for his success. “I dedicate all my success to my family,” he said. His latest triumph is just one among many that he has won till date.Winning Mr. India Gold Medal at Kullu Manali in 2010 in the 70kg category was the best moment of the man who weighs 73kg. “Initially, I just wanted to stay healthy and fit, and that is why I started going to the gym. But later on, I was inspired by Hollywood star Arnold  Schwarzenegger,” said the champion. He prefers ‘Squats’, which mean leg workouts, the most and maintains a very simple diet which includes chicken, eggs, oats, bread, fruits, protein shakes etc. When asked about his routine workouts, he said, “I work out for an hour in the morning and evening, which is ideal for me.”He had won the title of ‘Mr Greater Hyderabad’ recently. “It is definitely a great feeling when your hard work pays off. Maintaining body fitness and mental balance is very important. Youngsters need to keep themselves away from bad habits,” Anil said.
