Mother poisons kids and attempts suicide

BANGALORE: A nine-month-old baby girl, who was allegedly poisoned by her mother on August 4, at her residence in Kanakanagar in D J Halli police station limits, died in a hospital on Sunday. The deceased has been identified as Meghana.On the afternoon of August 4, the girl’s mother Usha (21) had reportedly poisoned her two children, Meghana and three-and-a-half-year old daughter Gagana, before she consumed poison. Later the three were shifted to Dr. B R Ambedkar Medical College and Hospital. According to the police, Usha had married Anand, an electrician working in Koramangala, five years ago. Though the reason for the  suicide attempt is not clear, it is suspected that Usha had some financial dispute with her parents and this might have led her to do this. Even, her parents do not have any complaint against her husband.Usha’s condition is critical, while Gagana is recovering..Usha’s mother Vijaya has filed a compliant with the police and have requested the police to take action against Usha for killing her baby. The D J Halli police have booked Usha under murder case.
