He was much applauded for his debut role in the movie 'Tournament'. But the poor fate of this Lal movie at the Box Office had its say on the actor. And Manu was left to wait for a long year for the right projects. He was then offered a tempting role in Siddharth Bharathan's remake of 'Nidhra'. After the photo shoot of the movie, the youngster grew a beard and took the precise practises to enliven the role , originally written by P Padmarajan. But Manu still can't figure out what happened in the finale phase, which pushed the actor out of the project.
It was hard times, particularly for a debutante. Manu was ready to wait: but only for the meaty, challenging offerings. And his wait finally made him wiser with the role that he had in 'Friday'. The movie with Fahad fazil, which was on screen this Onam was much applauded. And a portion of the approval also went to the meticulous performances of Manu in a lead role, who gets drowned to death in the later part of the movie.
Now that 'Friday' is a hit' Manu is suddenly surrounded with many offers. But the actor is surely leaving no stones unturned to check into the finest of the roles. He will be one again donning the lead in the new project from the 'Friday' team titled 'Monkeys'. This movie will have him once again in a script of Najeem Koya and in the direction of Lijin Jose. The movie will feature him in a very different looks and in a demanding character.
But before this movie Manu will complete his new project as a hero titled as 'Rose Guitarinal'. The comeback flick from the scriptwriter -turned director Ranjan Pramod, this triangular love story will be a musical. The shoot for the movie is expected to go on floors in November.
Anyhow, with the luck starting to shower on this young man, it is really a good going, Manu.
