CHENNAI: DMK president M Karunanidhi on Sunday sent a legal notice to a Tamil daily for publishing a report, which he termed defamatory. According to the notice, the newspaper published the report with “malafide intentions and bad faith” without ascertaining the veracity of the charges.Seeking unconditional apology and publication of the notice in the daily, the legal note warned of action under criminal law besides a suit for damages.A notice was also sent to a person who made allegations of land grab against the former chief minister.Denying the allegations of land grab made by NS Arumugam, Managing Director of NSA group of companies, the legal notice said a frivolous complaint with the police was published with utmost prominence to harm the reputation of the DMK chief.
