ALUVA: Minister K B Ganesh Kumar told mediapersons here that he was not prepared to talk with the representatives of Exhibitors Federation to sort out the present crisis in the film industry. The main cause of the agitation was mere misunderstanding of a few persons who believed that some theatres would be disqualified when the classification process was complete. It was only a baseless speculation of some of the leaders, Ganesh Kumar added.The minister held discussions with the representatives of Exhibitors Association, FEFKA, Producers’ Association and AMMA at the Government Guest House here on Monday. The minister said that he was not against enhancing surcharge. After installing ticket machine, the surcharge could go up from Rs 3 to Rs 5, the margin of which could be added to a welfare fund.The film industry caters to about 3 lakh people in the state. The minister said that it was not proper for any organisation to put these people in agony and difficulties.
