CHENNAI: Hair O Max Miss Kerala 2011 Beauty Pageant Audition is being held at Hotel Ambassador Pallava, Egmore on Saturday. Girls of Malayalee origin (at least one parent) between the age group of 18-24, with a minimum height of 5.2” are entitled to take part in the contest. Twenty-two girls will be shortlisted from the entries at the preliminaries to participate in the grand finale to be held in Kochi. The final 22 will be groomed for a week by an expert panel of achievers and celebrities before the contestants take the final stage to vie for the coveted tiara of Hair O Max Miss Kerala 2011. Apart from the mail title, the contestants would be awarded with various other subtitles. Auditions are being conducted at Bangalore, Chennai, Ahemadabad, Mumbai, Abu Dhabi and Kerala. In the biggest hunt for the ambassador of ‘God's Own Country’, HairOmax has become the title sponsor for the third time. Last year, the pageant producers had taken a leap by joining the ‘Save a Girl Child’ campaign. Miss Kerala was established in 1999 as a platform for young Kerala girls to excel and prove their mettle amid a competitive atmosphere and to instil and encourage the inherent values that one imbibes being a Keralite. In a decade, the pageant producers have witnessed more than 2,000 applicants from various backgrounds and socio-cultural milieu, of which nearly 300 girls have contested in the final round and have gone on to excel to greater heights not only in the glamour industry, but also in their chosen field of academic pursuits.
