Minegate: FIRs against SM Krishna, Dharam, HDK

BANGALORE: External Affairs Minister SM Krishna and Lok Sabha MPs N Dharam Singh and H D Kumaraswamy are among the 14 people against whom the Lokayukta police has filed a first information report (FIR) in the illegal mining case on Thursday.This follows a private complaint lodged by Yasim Abraham stating that Singh, Krishna and Kumaraswamy had given permission for illegal mining during their respective tenures as chief ministers.Following this, Lokayukta judge N K Sudhindra Rao had on December 3 directed the Lokayukta police to file an FIR under CrPc 156 (3), and submit a preliminary report before January 6, 2012.Accordingly, the Lokaykta police filed the FIR against Krishna, Singh, Kumaraswamy and senior IAS officer V Umesh, I R Perumal, K S Manjunath (retired), D S  Ashwath (retired), Mahendra Jain, retired senior police officer, Jija Harisingh, former director, Department of Mines and Geology,  Dr Basappa Reddy, deputy  managing directors of Mysore Minerals, K Srinivas and Shankarlingaiah.
