HYDERABAD: In addition to the hurdle set up by traders of Sultan Bazaar, Badichowdi, Kachiguda and Narayanguda, on a warpath against the state government demanding a change in the alignment of the Metro Rail Corridor II (Jubilee Bus Station to Falaknuma), the rail route is facing another hurdle. The Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWS&SB) is planning to lay a pipeline to divert the sewage flowing into the Hussainsagar to the 339 MLD Amberpet Sewerage Treatment Plant (STP) along the same route that of the proposed Metro Rail Corridor II.The Board is laying a 5 km-pipelines from Liberty junction to Nimboliadda at an estimated cost of `76 crore. They have already laid the pipeline over a 2 km stretch. With the Metro Rail Corridor II passing through Narayanguda, Kachiguda and Sultan Bazaar to Falaknuma, the proposed sewage line would crisscross the rail lines for 400 to 600 mts.Water Board officials told Express, that Metro Rail authorities have written a letter to them not to go ahead with the proposed works till the matter is solved. As the rail pillars cannot be laid on the the pipelines, the solution lies in pillars should be moved to a reasonable distance. However, the water board officials said that the laying of the remaining 3 km of the pipelines would get delayed.
