Mumbai: Mauritius Tourism Promotion Authority (MTPA) on Monday said, it expects 10 per cent growth in the number of Indian tourists arrival in the island nation during the current year.
"Last year, 43,911 Indian tourists visited our country and this year we are looking forward for better tourists inflow ", MTPA Chairman Robert Desvaux said.
Desvaux said, India ranks at the seventh spot in terms of tourists arrival from across the world in Mauritius, while France tops the list.
Tourism contributes 11.7 per cent to the country's Gross Domestic Product.
Desvaux was in the city to promote a new package for Indian travellers.
The new travel package offers a person stay in a five-star hotel for six night and seven days for Rs 55,000. This also includes return airfare ticket on economy class.
